Conditions That May Benefit From The Use Of Cannabis

Anxiety

As per The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Institute, University of Washington, June 2017 Effects of Marijuana: Effects of Marijuana on Mental Health: Anxiety Disorders. The effects of Marijuana are complex and many come down to personal History, the amounts, and how long Patients use it without tolerance breaks.THC appears to decrease anxiety at lower doses and increase anxiety at higher doses. A low dose of THC (7.5 mg) reduced emotional responses, and a higher dose of THC (12.5 mg) produced a small but significant increase in anxiety, negative mood, and subjective distress. Looking at CBD, however, appears to have extremely positive anxiolytic effects at high doses. Patients were taking upwards of 300-600 mg of oral CBD and noted an improvement in mood, anti-anxiolytic effects, decrease in stress, and subjective improvement in social situations.

Headaches

Marijuana has natural compounds called cannabinoids. When you use it, these cannabinoids go into your body and look for the receptors. They change how the receptors work, and they can calm down pain signals making cannabis a good candidate for relieving migraines and headaches.

Cancer

As per the American Cancer Society, Several small studies of smoked/Vaporized marijuana found that Marijuana can help treat nausea & vomiting from cancer chemotherapy.

THC and CBD as well as some minor cannabinoids, have been shown to slow growth and reduce the spread of some forms of cancers as well as cause apoptosis.

In some States, there have been some PreClinical trials of cannabinoids in treating cancer in humans and more studies are planned. (Molecules 2022,27, 1214.)

* I Do Not Recommend Delaying Conventional Medical Cancer Treatment Or Using Cannabis as your Primary form of Treatment, as this can Result in Serious Life-threatening Health Risks, Including Death.*

PTSD

Studies have shown that medical marijuana can help treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in even treatment-resistant cases. Cannabinoid receptors are located in various places throughout the body and brain, so both mental and physical symptoms can be altered with medical marijuana treatment.

Depression

Chronic stress has been known to reduce the production of endocannabinoids, which affect our cognition, emotion, and behavior. The body naturally produces these compounds, which are similar to the chemicals in cannabis. Therefore using cannabis may be an effective way to restore endocannabinoid levels, thereby, alleviating some symptoms of depression.

Seizures

The professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Ryan Vandrey Ph.D., when Patients initiated Artisanl CBD products, not only did they see improvements in their management, and better tolerance to their Anti-Seizure Medications, They saw overall improvement to sleep, depression, anxiety and quality of life. Published in The Journal of Epilepsy and Behavior (08/11/2021).

Gastrointestinal Disorder

In the FrontiersEndocrinol Study from August 31, 2021 study, of IBD (inflammatory Bowel Patients: Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis) patients, they found (via blood samples and biopsies), that essentially “tone” (eCB) in Ulcerative Colitis (UC) patients most likely have beneficial effects on disease symptoms.
